Privacy & support

Toonality, LLC

This page covers our launch waitlist, customer accounts, and the limited photo and image-generation preview. Joining the waitlist does not create an account. Creating an account does not subscribe you to launch updates or require payment. Accounts are for people 13 or older, and 13 to 17 only with a parent’s or guardian’s permission; see our Terms of use.

What we collect and why

We save your name, email address, preferred platform, signup time, consent, and whether you verified your email or unsubscribed. We use these details to manage the waitlist and send the launch updates you request. We also keep email-processing records to investigate delivery problems. Delivery feedback can tell us whether a recipient server accepted a message or reported a bounce or spam complaint.

Customer account information

For an account, we store your name, email address, a securely hashed password, confirmation status, and account timestamps. We use this information to sign you in, manage your profile, and send account activation or password-reset emails. Account links use expiring, single-use tokens; stored tokens are hashed and queued email contents are encrypted. Session records and a revocation version help expire sign-ins and sign you out after password changes.

Who helps us provide the service

GoDaddy hosts our website and production database. Resend sends our production verification, welcome, and account service emails and receives the recipient address and message content needed for delivery. Contacting support sends your message to our Gmail inbox. Send feedback in the app emails your message to our support inbox with your name, your email address (so we can reply) and your phone’s system version. Artificial-intelligence service providers process the photos, text, voices and recordings described on this page on our behalf, only to provide what you asked for. In the iPhone app, finding your face during face capture runs on your phone with Google’s ML Kit; it never sends your photos, but it sends Google anonymous diagnostics (such as the phone model, system version, timing and error codes, with an identifier for that installation) that aren’t linked to your account.

Your age

We ask your age when you sign in: whether you are 18 or older, or 13 to 17. We keep your answer and when you gave it with your account, show it in Account settings (where you can update it), and use it only to switch off grown-up features for accounts under 18. It is removed when you delete your account.

Cookies and browser preferences

A session cookie helps protect forms and customer and administrator sign-in. Browser storage remembers your light/dark preference, homepage artwork state, whether you have seen the coming-soon message, and the studio's layout and thumbnail-size preferences. For the current browser tab only, it also remembers that you allowed Toonality to process photos, so you are not asked again for every request. You can clear these preferences in your browser. We use hashed identifiers derived from email and IP addresses to limit repeated requests. Hosting and email providers may maintain their own service and security records.

How long we keep waitlist information

Cleanup removes related verification tokens and queued email records. We keep minimal opt-out history to avoid losing a previous request to stop updates. An explicit new signup and email confirmation can establish a new subscription. We also retain a minimal hashed-address record when delivery feedback blocks further mail, such as after a hard bounce or spam complaint. A new signup does not automatically remove that block. Private backups and service-provider records are managed separately; deleting a live profile does not immediately erase every backup copy.

How long we keep customer account information

Scheduled cleanup runs daily in bounded batches. Deleting your account removes the live customer profile, password hash, account tokens, and associated email history, your photos, generated images and saved scene, and invalidates its sign-ins. Any unused test credits are forfeited. We keep order and credit-ledger records, no longer linked to your account, to reconcile payments, and minimal image records (job times, status, usage estimates, and a one-way fingerprint of each photo, not the photo itself) for accounting and abuse prevention. Your separate waitlist subscription is unchanged. Minimal delivery-block records remain to prevent unwanted email. Existing private backups and email-provider records are handled separately and are not immediately erased by deleting a live account. Backups kept on our hosting account are replaced on a rolling basis: database copies for 14 days and photo copies for about two weeks. Separate encrypted copies may be kept offline, only to recover the service.

Your choices

Use the unsubscribe link in your welcome email to stop launch updates. Unsubscribing stops the subscription first; profile cleanup follows the retention policy above. For help, corrections, or removal requests, email support@toonality.com. We may need to confirm that you control the relevant address.

Signed-in customers can change their name, request a password reset, and delete their account through Account settings. Deletion requires your current password and confirmation. Email address changes are not available yet; email support@toonality.com for help.

Photos and generated images in the private preview

Selected test accounts can upload photos and request an illustration. Photos and results are stored privately, rather than at public image URLs. Your account can access its own images. Authorized administrators can view source and generated images from the job queue for support and operational review.

Before generation, we ask you to allow Toonality to process a resized copy of your photo with your selected style. We also keep job status, timestamps, estimated usage, and credit reservations to operate the queue and account for generation. Only upload photos you have permission to use.

Two free studio features also process resized copies of photos you choose, each only after you confirm: the safety check, which determines whether Toonality's safety rules might decline a photo, and scene and toon ideas, which suggest descriptions from your photos, their roles and your notes. We keep only the outcome—the names of any safety categories, or the suggested text—privately beside your photos, and remove it with them. Suggested ideas are removed after a day.

During this preview, image access expires 45 days after upload, or 45 days after you last create a new image from a photo, whichever is later. Generated scenes expire with their earliest-expiring reference photo. Scheduled cleanup removes expired images; files involved in active work may be deferred until that work can be safely cleaned up. This live-storage policy does not erase copies you download or hosting backups. Records needed to operate and secure image generation may follow separate retention schedules.

Saved scene plans

You can explicitly save one private scene plan per account, including photo references, their roles, your description and output preferences. Saving makes no extra photo copies and does not process photos for generation. Plans expire with their earliest-expiring photo and are removed when a referenced photo or your account is deleted. You can discard a saved plan without deleting the photos. Existing backups are managed separately.

Test credits and checkout

Credit purchases in this limited preview use Stripe test mode. Use only Stripe-provided test payment details, not a real payment card. We retain order status, amounts, provider references, and credit-ledger records to reconcile purchases and image usage. Stripe hosts checkout and handles the payment details entered there; our application does not store raw card details. Real-money sales are not enabled in this preview.

Movies

When you make a movie, the toon or scene you chose and your description of what happens are processed by Toonality’s video service to create the video; you are asked before each movie is made. The finished video is stored privately with your other images, available only to your account, and removed after the same period as your photos. Our video service may keep a copy for a limited time to deliver it.
